Catering Guide: How to Build the Perfect Menu for Your Event
At Sidon, we’re passionate about the way good food brings people together. When you order catering for your event, building the right menu selection for your guests will provide them with an experience they won’t forget. Lebanese cuisine is well-suited for catered events because it offers such a wide variety of dishes. With plenty of salads, appetizers, meats and options for any dietary restriction, it’s easy to create a menu that will ensure every guest at your event will find something they love. Whether you’re planning a big wedding or a casual family gathering, here’s our guide to curating the right menu for your event!
Professional Gatherings:
Business lunches and other work-related events benefit from a spread of food that’s tasty, easy to serve and not overly complicated. We provide streamlined options that are perfect for this type of setting: our Catering Packages and Boxed Lunches. For our catering packages, we offer three preset menus at three different price points. All you need to do is tell us how many guests you need to feed and choose the package that’s best for your budget. Our Boxed Lunches are pretty straightforward; they’re individualized meals that come with a main dish, sides and dessert. These are a great option if you want easy cleanup and to give your guests a more personalized selection for their food.
A wedding is truly a special occasion, and therefore deserves an extra special spread of food. The goal is to create a memorable spread of food and make sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We recommend starting with the fan-favorite essentials: Fattoush salad, Hommus with Stone-Fire Pita Bread, Yellow Rice, a variety of our chargrilled kabobs and Baklava. From there, select a handful of unique dishes, such as the bride and groom’s favorite dish, something meaningful to either side of the family or simply something that catches your eye on our menu. Some of our favorite specialty items include Tabbouleh, Grape Leaves and Lamb Chops. We also provide our clients with the option to have someone from our team stay at their event to assist with managing the food and being attentive to your guests.
Hosting friends and family can require a lot of effort, even when it’s an informal occasion. Ordering catering for a casual get-together is the way to go if you don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen. We recommend offering a mix of appetizers like Hommus, Greek Salad and Grape Leaves as well as some main dishes like our Yellow Rice and Chargrilled Kabobs. To make things even easier, you could order our Mezza Appetizer package; this comes with four classic Lebanese dishes and pita bread. If the occasion calls for dishes that can be easily picked up and eaten, we also offer mini Pita Pockets, Mini Burgers and Small Fatayer.
For important holidays such as Eid, Ramadan, Thanksgiving and Christmas, food is always part of the equation. Lucky for you, we have a special selection of classic dishes for holiday gatherings. We offer roasted legs of lamb, roasted turkeys and all your favorite side dishes. Next time a holiday comes around and you don’t feel like cooking, be sure to give us a call! We’re also happy to take orders for just one or two dishes a la carte if you need something in a pinch to take to a holiday party or gathering.
