Menu Guide for Gains
It’s the beginning of a New Year, and many of us have new fitness goals, whether it's going to the gym, running outside, or exercising at home. We all know that regularly eating protein helps build muscles, so we’ve put together this “Menu Guide for Gains” that highlights our favorite high protein menu items to help you reach these goals! We cover all the different types of meat and also showcase some options for our vegetarian and vegan friends. The Mediterranean diet is truly special because you can eat delicious food that is still healthy for you.
Chicken is such a versatile protein, and we serve it many different ways here at Sidon. Chicken breast is the cut of chicken that is highest in protein, so we recommend our Fattoush salad with grilled chicken on top. Fattoush is a classic Lebanese salad with lettuce, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, parsley and green peppers that is topped with toasted pita chips and tossed in our signature Mediterranean dressing. As for the chicken, you won’t find any dry chicken breast here! Our grilled chicken breast is marinated at least a day in advance before it hits the grill, ensuring maximum flavor and juiciness. All assembled, the crispness of the veggies, brightness of the dressing and rich flavor of the grilled chicken make for a delicious and high-protein combination.
If your meat of choice is beef, we highly recommend our Beef Kabob entree. We use beef tenderloin for our Beef Kabobs, which is very lean while still extremely tender. Our philosophy with our beef kabobs is to keep things simple to let the flavor of the meat shine. The only seasoning we use is a very light coating of oil with a small amount of salt and pepper. The entree comes with two skewers for a plentiful serving of protein, a side of our Hommus, your choice of Yellow Rice or French Fries and some fresh veggies and pickles on the side. If you’re trying to avoid carbs, you can order your skewers à la carte instead!
For the lamb lovers, our Lamb Kabob entree is the perfect way to go. Our Lamb Kabobs also use boneless loin meat to ensure the meat is super tender while still very lean. This dish is very similar to our Beef Kabob Entree; you get two skewers, a side of our Hommus, Yellow Rice or French Fries and some fresh veggies and pickles on the side. Again, all of our skewers can be ordered à la carte if you’re staying away from carbs!
If you’re a vegetarian, eggs are one of your best friends when it comes to protein sources! We highly recommend trying our Shakshooka from our brunch menu. Shakshooka is a staple Middle Eastern breakfast dish, consisting of scrambled eggs with sautéed tomatoes and onions. We serve our Shakshooka with a side of fresh tomato slices and pickles. A day that begins with Shakshooka and some tea or coffee is sure to be a great day. Listen to some music by Fairouz while eating this dish to get the authentic Lebanese breakfast experience! Our menu features many other high-protein items that are vegetarian; read our vegan section below to learn more about some of our favorites!
All vegans know that it can sometimes be difficult to fit diverse protein sources into their diet. Luckily, many high-protein dishes in Lebanese cuisine are completely vegan and extremely delicious! Falafel is a fan-favorite Lebanese food that is made from a seasoned mixture of ground chickpeas and veggies that is shaped into patties and deep fried. You can order our Falafel à la carte or wrapped up in a pita sandwich with fresh veggies, pickles and our tahini sauce. If you visit us for brunch, we recommend trying our Foul. This is another staple Lebanese dish made from a mixture of fava beans, chickpeas, minced garlic and lemon that is topped with a healthy serving of extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy with our freshly-made stone-fire pita bread and you will have energy for the entire day. Finally, we can’t forget about our signature Hommus! Made fresh everyday, this chickpea-based dip can be eaten with just about anything and is a delicious way to squeeze in some extra protein!
Whether you need easy preworkout meals, post-workout meals or are just looking to up your protein intake, we have plenty of delicious yet healthy food options to support your fitness and nutrition goals in 2026!
